Psychotherapy
|
The circumstances that lead a patient to enter psychotherapy are many and varied, but what they almost always have in common is the presence of some sort of past or current state of crisis. This alone calls for the attention of a qualified and experienced psychotherapist who can create a customized course of psychological treatment that will appropriately address the issues at hand and help shake loose their hold on a patient's mind, body, health and wellness. In my practice as a psychotherapist, I draw from a deep well of established therapeutic tools and techniques to create an individualized approach that will meet the needs of each patient. Though facts, logic and science do drive the psychotherapy process, it is important to understand that my role as a psychotherapist is, at it's core, to create a dialog with my patients - not lead a lecture. A truly reciprocal relationship is key to actually helping patients begin to recognize, understand and overcome the circumstances that led them to seek out psychotherapy treatment in the first place. |
Trusting Your Psychotherapist |
In my professional opinion, a healthy and supportive relationship between psychotherapist and patient is fundamental to successful treatment and the progression of the healing process. To establish this relationship with my psychotherapy patients, I go to great lengths to provide a comfortable and safe space in which to work through the issues and emotions that are holding them captive. |
